Visual Novel ‘Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi Tsuzuri’ Gets PC and Switch Release Date; New Trailer Streaming

Dramatic Create announced that Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi Tsuzuri will be released on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on February 29, 2024.

The developer released a new trailer showcasing some of the scenes and characters. This release for Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi Tsuzuri will be based on the 2014 PSP version, which adds a new scenario to the original 2011 PC release. Further, the PSP release had a prequel scenario, fully voiced characters, and a new ending, which will be present on the Switch and Steam releases.

Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi Tsuzuri takes place in the town of Utsuwa, where a young boy named Yue has spent his entire life in a mountain shrine. His life takes a turn when he descends the mountain for the first time to attend the winter festival with his childhood friend, Kurogitsune, a black fox. Experiencing the outside world and its vibrant festivities, Yue encounters two enigmatic boys. This encounter triggers a series of events, leading him back to the shrine where Mikoto, the shrine’s owner, cryptically instructs him to prepare the “meal.”

Yue, who enjoys a laid-back lifestyle and possesses a curious nature, finds his life intertwined with several unique characters. Kurogitsune, a black fox and Yue’s loyal friend since childhood, considers himself Yue’s big brother. He is strong-willed and straightforward, a stark contrast to the more composed and mature personalities of two second-year students at Utsuwa High School, who Yue meets during the festival. One of these students, living with his father and little sister, shares a mysterious connection with Yue, hinting at a shared past. The other, a son of a wealthy family and always carrying tissues due to severe allergies, is intrigued by Yue and seeks to uncover his true identity. Additionally, a mysterious man, always smiling yet unsettling, appears during twilight, showing familiarity with Yue and adding to the mystery surrounding him.
