Oddworld Inhabitants released a new trailer for their upcoming title Oddworld: Soulstorm, the newest entry in their long-running Oddworld series during GDC 2019.
The new cinematic trailer gives players a preview of the game’s rendering capabilities and what the developers have been able to pull off for this new title. However, what’s not shown is gameplay, but players can get a glimpse of some really in-depth rendering and character designs.
During the trailer, players get a chance to see to Mudokons racing aboard a train to get away from a swarm of enemies known as Scrabs. The Oddworld series is known for its puzzle design and unique gameplay, but the series has released entries in 2D as well as 3D worlds that each utilize a feature where players must save Mudokons in order to progress.
Additionally, the developer released two other trailers showing the amount of work that they put into bringing the cinematic trailer to its final look. Developed in Unity, these behind-the-scenes videos give a closer look to character and enemy designs.
Sadly, the trailer ends on a cliffhanger the characters race towards a dead end.
Oddworld: Soulstorm is still in development with no release date or platforms announced.
