Octopath Traveler II Average Playtime is 70 Hours, Completionists Should Expect Over 100 Hours
In the March 9, 2023, issue of Famitsu magazine, a prominent Japanese company known for publishing a variety of news primarily regarding video games, an interview was conducted with some of the key staff behind the soon-to-be-released turn-based Square Enix JRPG, Octopath Traveler II.

Square Enix Producer Masashi Takashi, Character Designer Naoki Ikushima, ACQUIRE Director Keisuke Miyauchi, and Composer Yasunori Nishiki were the ones interviewed, specifically.
When talking about the playtime of Octopath Traveler II, Takashi said that the average expected playtime is around 70 hours. Additionally, completionists who aim to do everything the game offers should expect over 100 hours. Alternatively, if you were to beeline the main story and ignore optional tasks, roughly 60 hours is to be expected.
In our review, we noted that most players should expect to spend around 50-80 hours with the title. While that is definitely a broad range, there is a great deal of freedom to be had with Octopath Traveler II, so it’s difficult to provide precise playtime expectations since everyone will progress throughout the experience in their own ways.
Lastly, Ikushima shared cute new artwork of the cast in the interview, viewable below:
The original Octopath Traveler is available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
