Square Enix has announced that the upcoming western release of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will occur in Summer 2022. Further, users can currently pre-register for the title with the chance to gain access to its closed beta. However, pre-registration is only available via the Google Play Store.
This mobile game takes place a few years before the events of Octopath Traveler proper, where the land of Orsterra is ruled by all manner of tyrants seeking to fulfill their selfish desires. Still, some crucial individuals resist these oppressors, Chosen Ones of a Divine Ring, who players will encounter. The title boasts over 64 playable characters at launch, with unique path actions akin to what is useable in Octopath Traveler. Speaking of direct Octopath Traveller carry-overs, its composer, Yasunori Nishiki, has created new compositions.

In Octopath Traveler, players set forth on an epic adventure through the enchanting yet perilous continent of Orsterra, stretching across vast landscapes from lush forests, to desert outposts and snow-swept cathedrals. Rather than only taking control of one hero and a crew of other folks, Octopath Traveler instead features eight distinct characters that each have their own tales to enjoy. Players start the game as one of the eight characters, and then from there, recruit the other seven in whichever order the player chooses.
Exploring all that Octopath Traveler has to offer will surely take some time as there are a slew of quests to complete, exciting boss fights to conquer, powerful gear to get, and so much more.
