Octopath Traveler 5th Anniversary Broadcast Announced for July 2023

Square Enix has announced via Japanese outlet Famitsu that a fifth-anniversary broadcast for their turn-based JRPG Octopath Traveler will occur on July 13, 2023, at 20:00 Japan Standard Time.

Square Enix producer Masashi Takahashi, composer Yasunori Nishiki, and Acquire director Keisuke Miyauchi will be featured in this stream as they reflect on this new beloved series, as well as report on the results of a fan survey.

Considering how Octopath Traveler II recently released, it’s doubtful we’ll get any major announcements, but we’ll keep you all updated regardless. Hopefully, the first game will get ported to PlayStation? That’d be nice.

Square Enix Japan’s official YouTube channel will host the broadcast as it goes live.

Octopath Traveler II is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Throughout this ambitious sequel, players control eight main characters who all face their own unique plights in different parts of Solistia. Further, they all boast unique Jobs, abilities, and even specific stories where duos of the cast interact with each other far more.

This feature was implemented following feedback from the first entry. Regarding gameplay specifics, every party member now has two Path Actions, changed depending on the time of day, adding further character variety and strategy to consider when on the road and in towns.

The game has sold over one million units worldwide.
