Square Enix has shared new details for Octopath Traveler 0, including the introduction of new Travelers, the main antagonist, and new facilities players can construct through Town Building.
The update highlights the “Master of All,” Pardis III, the monarch of the Kingdom of Edoras. Pardis commands wealth, power, and fame, but his greed drives him to launch an invasion to claim all of Orsterra.
The following allies were introduced:
Pius (voiced by Todd Haberkorn) is a Cleric and bishop of the Order of the Sacred Flame. A distant relative of the protagonist’s mother, he seeks to repay past kindness. His Ultimate Technique, Scales of Justice, lowers the defenses of all enemies while boosting the physical and elemental attacks of all allies.
Saoirse (voiced by Brianna Knickerbocker) is a Dancer known for her artistry and vocal talent. She travels in search of a partner who shares her vision. Her Ultimate Technique, Ruinous Aria, lets an ally exploit enemy weaknesses for several turns, regardless of their vulnerabilities.
Carinda (voiced by Erica Mendez) is a Merchant from a village in the Riverlands. She uses her charm and business sense to turn opportunities into profit. Her Ultimate Technique, Trick of the Trade, increases the party’s physical attack power and grants a one-time physical dodge.
Xerc (voiced by Adam Korenman) is a Scholar intrigued by the properties of soulstones. He dreams of studying a colossal soulstone with the help of his assistant. His Ultimate Technique, Soulstone’s Might, unleashes a burst of elemental attacks, striking all enemies once with each.
Regarding the Town Building, the Monster Arena lets players capture and battle monsters, complete capture requests, and earn prizes through arena matches.
Meanwhile, the Museum serves as a collection hub where players can revisit music, reread journals from past events, and display treasures. Wishvale’s background music can even be customized.

Octopath Traveler 0 will be released for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on December 4, 2025.
