Obsidian has announced that its upcoming action RPG Avowed has been delayed from its previously confirmed Fall 2024 release to February 18, 2025.
Avowed will be released on Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and PC via Steam.
Avowed is set in the world of Eora from the Pillars of Eternity franchise, where players are the envoys of the distant land of Aedyr. Here, you investigate rumors of a certain plague making its way throughout the Living Lands, as well as an eventual personal connection, secrets, and other dangers that can potentially eliminate one and all.
The Living Lands have diverse biomes and ecosystems and a varied gameplay system with swords, spells, guns, and shields. Further, players can look forward to several companions comprised of many species. Each amplifies the presence of unique skills, player choices, and consequences, which are at the heart of Avowed.
The Xbox Developer Direct previously went behind the scenes with Obsidian Entertainment, showcasing commentary from the staff that further details the gameplay and world. There is also a great deal of gameplay footage for prospective players to peruse, with character exchanges and questlines also teased in an inter-spliced manner.
