Observer: System Redux Takes Deep-Dive into Next Gen Version in New Trailer

During IGN’s Summer of Games livestream, Bloober Team revealed a new trailer for Observer: System Redux, the next gen version of 2017’s single-player psychological horror Observe. System Redux is slated to come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in Q4 2020.

The trailer detailed how Bloober Team will be taking advantage of next generation hardware, such as using brand new 4K textures and a new lighting system utilizing HDR and Ray Tracing. The trailer also showed off some of System Redux‘s new story content.

Observer is a first person psychological horror that takes place 64 years into the future. After a digital plague known as the nanophage rendered thousands dead, the world has been plagued with war and rampant drug use. Players take control of Daniel Lazarski, a Polish detective in the Observers police unit.

Lazarski has the ability to freely hack into peoples brains in order to perform interrogations and has the ability to switch into two different augmented visions: Electromagnetic vision for electronic devices and Bio vision for biological evidence. Using these abilities, Lazarski delves into the seedy underworld of 2084 Poland in search of his estranged son Adam.
