Continuing our week of best of’s is Part 2 of our Genre awards. In case you missed yesterday’s list, please check it out. So without further ado, let’s get to the games!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate provides the ultimate amount of fun when playing with friends. Going online and battling it out with your crew to settle an argument or decide which siblings have to do the dishes always easy with Smash. We’ve spent countless hours playing this game throughout 2019, and we are sure we will spend more in 2020.
Runner up: Apex Legends
The Outer Worlds
Create a character and explore multiple planets. All while taking on a quest that could decide the fates of thousands of colonists? Count us in! The Outer Worlds presents some fantastic leaps forward in terms of strong narratives set in beautiful worlds. Everything from the side missions to the companions provides any who want it with the adventure of a lifetime.
Runner up: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Catherine: Full Body
Catherine: Full Body gives players improved visuals to an already stunning game and adds new story content and modes to dive into. This is a game that you can play if you’re a long-time fan or a newcomer, which makes it the perfect recipient of this award.
Runner up: Final Fantasy VIII Remaster
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne gives so much in terms of content that none of us could argue against it, providing a fantastic gaming experience for fans. With new monsters, gear, story elements, and setting, this has raised the bar of what expansion should be.
Runner up: Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers
Best Ecchi Game
Senran Kagura: Peach Ball
Seeing the girls of Senran Kagura dressed up as animals and then be able to literally launch balls at them was a dream for some of us. Although the game is relatively straightforward, it’s undeniable that it is truly as zany as ecchi games can come. Perhaps this category was created exclusively for this lewd pinball game.
Runner up: Our World Is Ended.
Best Ecchi Visual Novel
Sankaku Renai: Love Triangle Trouble
Who could have guessed that your long lost sister returning home would be the foundation of a confusing and hysterical love triangle? Well, Sankaku Renai: Love Triangle Trouble explores all that and more within its comical tones, we find themes of love. Regardless if you are going into this title for the comedic elements or its many h-scenes, there’s a little bit for everyone here.
Runner up: Lamunation!
