Ori and the Blind Forest Developer Reveal “Mature” Action RPG ‘No Rest for the Wicked’ Coming to Steam Early Access in Q1 2024

Private Division announced they will publish the Moon Studios-developed action RPG No Rest for the Wicked on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The game will launch first in Steam Early Access in Q1 2024 before its full launch.

The publisher has promised that more information about the game will be shown during Wicked Inside, a digital showcase airing on March 1, 2024, on Twitch and YouTube.

No Rest for the Wicked, developed by Moon Studios, presents a meticulously crafted world with a unique “painting” art style that sets it apart. The game invites players to explore Isola Sacra, a sprawling and intricate island offering a new level of verticality in ARPGs. This includes exploring deep crypts, lush forests, and challenging mountain terrains. Each area is populated with complex characters, hidden treasures, formidable creatures, and mysteries to uncover.

The game revolutionizes combat in ARPGs with its brutal, precision-based system. Moon Studios emphasizes animation-driven, direct, and tactile combat that rewards skillful players who master combining powerful strikes and deadly moves. This approach to combat ensures a rewarding and distinct gameplay experience, focusing on skill and timing rather than repetitive button-pressing.

The game’s visually striking art and intense combat are enhanced by a dark, mature narrative set in the year 841, during a crucial period in a kingdom’s history marked by the death of King Harol Bolein. The kingdom plunges into chaos amidst a power struggle and the reemergence of a deadly plague on Isola Sacra. Players are thrust into this turbulent world, battling both monstrous creatures and an invading army amidst a politically and atmospherically charged setting.

Furthermore, No Rest for the Wicked features a multiplayer mode where players can join up to three friends in an online co-op campaign. This mode allows players to experience every quest, boss fight, and inch of Isola Sacra together or venture independently as they wish, offering a shared or solitary journey through this richly detailed world.
