Nioh 2 Reveals Post Launch DLC and Cast of Characters in New Story Trailer
Sony Interactive Entertainment shared a new story trailer for the Team Ninja developed action title Nioh 2, coming to PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020.
The trailer sets the mood for the new adventure set in 1555 Japan as the country is in the midst of a seemingly endless war. Players get a preview of the enemies and characters they’ll meet along the way as they fight to understand more about themselves and what they are. It seems that the character faces discrimination because they may or may not be a demon.
Additionally, the game will receive a Season Pass that will include three major DLC updates, each focusing on a different storyline that pre-dates the events of Nioh 2. This will also include new weapons, new combat abilities, and new characters. Players who purchase the Nioh 2 Special Edition, with the main game and Season Pass, will also receive a Steelbook case and “The Art of Nioh 2” booklet.
Nioh 2’s protagonist is a half-breed, part human, and Yokai, which gives him unbelievable power. Through his journey, players will travel across the Sengoku period of Japan as they find themselves deep inside the Dark Realm of the Yokai. The character controlled by the player is also a mute mercenary known for hunting powerful Yokai, but the dark realm seems to be always surrounding them.
During gameplay, players will be able to improve their weapons using the Yokai Shift that increases their stats during the Yokai form. Players can also get help from other players to aid them in combat by interacting with their spirits. This will allow an online player to stay with you until the end of the level, or until they are defeated.
