Nioh 2 Has Sold 2 Million Copies Across All Consoles Worldwide

Koei Tecmo announced that the Team Ninja-developed action-adventure, Nioh 2, has sold 2 million copies worldwide across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC; this includes sales of Nioh 2: The Complete Edition.

Nioh 2 launched in March 2020 on PS4 before releasing an updated version on PS5 and PC in February 2021. The series together have sold over 5 million copies, including sales of 2017’s Nioh. The game is a high fantasy action title that requires players to use skill to overcome the many powerful enemies that await them. Its high level of difficulty doesn’t seem to be holding it back from reaching a wide audience of gamers.

Nioh 2: The Complete Edition includes all three of the DLC expansions, “The Tengu’s Disciple,” “Darkness in the Capital,” and the recently announced “The First Samurai.” The game features three different multiplayer modes, including Bloody Graves, Benevolent Graves, and the Co-op Mode found at the Torii Gate.

At Bloody Graves, players are able to summon the Revenant (AI-controlled specters) of other players. Benevolent Graves similarly allow the summoning of an AI-controlled character, but when offering Ochoko Cups to these graves, the character will fight alongside your player for a brief period.
