Now You Can Get the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion DLC for Free via Switch Online

Nintendo has just announced on their official Twitter account that owners of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack will now be able to get the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion DLC at no added cost. It’s worth noting that this DLC can also be acquired separately for $19,99. On the official website, Nintendo states the following:

Play as an Octoling in this DLC/game add-on content that features a full-on single-player adventure spanning 80 missions starring Agent 8, a character who awakens on a dark subway platform. Navigate this mysterious underground test facility in a desperate battle to reach the surface of Inkopolis. Escape from these twisted depths, and you’ll be able to join multiplayer matches as an Octoling! With the Splatoon 3 game on the horizon, this DLC is the perfect way to get in some practice before you take on the Splatlands!

The next game in the series will be Splatoon 3.

Splatoon 3 is the brand-new sequel to Splatoon 2. In this new game in the Splatoon series, you’ll leave Inkopolis behind and head to a new region: the Splatlands. Its heart is a new city where battle-savvy Inklings and Octolings gather: Splatsville, also known as the “City of Chaos.”

In addition, Splatoon 3 introduces various features to the action-shooter series, including weapons such as the bow-weapon, customization options, and movement abilities to bring to the returning 4v4 Turf Wars matches. Splatoon 3 will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch on September 9.
