Nintendo Has Added Missions & Rewards To Its Switch Online Service; User Icon Customization

Nintendo has recently updated their online service for Nintendo Switch users, adding a ‘Missions and Rewards’ tab. Players can redeem Platinum Points for ways to customize one’s profile icon. To help keep this point redemption process fresh, differently themed icon elements will be introduced monthly, with Super Mario Odyssey and Animal Crossing: New Horizons ones now being available.

Earning Platinum Points is fairly simple. The missions merely comprise elementary tasks such as playing a specific online game or utilizing other Nintendo Switch online service features. It’s cool to see Nintendo implement a reward system like this, though I hope to see it more fleshed out. Admittedly, I’m not a fan of it being strictly tied to Nintendo Switch online subscribers, but it’s a clever sign-up incentive. Here’s hoping Switch themes are the next added aspect because the console desperately needs that.

Speaking of the Switch, some games you should not play on it are the Kingdom Hearts Cloud ports.

I defeated the Kingdom Hearts III data battles and Yozora on the recent Nintendo Switch cloud port.

If you missed them, check out my appreciative pieces on the following data fights:
