Nintendo has revealed a brand new amiibo launching simultaneously with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD on July 16, 2021. This new amiibo features Zelda and a Loftwing, one of the flying creatures in the title.
When players scan this amiibo onto their Joy-Con or other compatible controllers, one can instantly traverse to the sky from anywhere in the game, even from within dungeons. Scanning the amiibo again will transport players back to the exact spot they initially chose to traverse to the sky.
The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo is launching on July 16, 2021, for $24.99.

Back when this title was announced, the developer showed off how players will use the Joy-Con to control the sword and shield independently, a gimmick that was once used with the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuck. Players will need to switch the Right Joy-Con to attack or use the Left Joy-Con to block enemy attacks. Players can also use the Switch without the gimmick by utilizing the right thumbstick to control Link’s sword. Players will have full control over Link’s action using button controls, which is a first for the game.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword initially launched on Wii in 2011 and featured gameplay where players will travel to various dungeons via a flying bird name Loftwing. Interestingly, the dungeons and layout of the adventure are very Zelda-esque as it retains many classic systems and mechanics, which some liked and some didn’t at the time.
