PlatinumGames and Koei Tecmo have officially announced that Ninja Gaiden 4 will release on October 21, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and Xbox Series X|S.
Pre-orders will grant the Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo Skin at launch. A Deluxe Edition was also unveiled.
This new entry marks a fresh chapter for the high-speed action franchise with a new protagonist at the helm. Ninja Gaiden 4 follows Yakumo, a fresh face in the series. While Yakumo is the focus, series icon Ryu Hayabusa returns with a key role as both a narrative driver and a playable character. According to producer and director Yuji Nakao, Hayabusa marks a significant turning point in Yakumo’s growth throughout the story.
Yakumo introduces new traversal options, including wires and rails, that enhance movement speed. The standout new mechanic is Yakumo’s Bloodraven Form, which lets him manipulate blood to forge massive weapons. When conditions are met, players can trigger the Bloodbath Kill, a one-hit execution.
Enemies are designed to push players to the limit without ever crossing into cheap territory, according to Nakao. Tight controls, aggressive foes, and high-speed violence remain at the series’ core, but with refinements aimed at a more modern audience.
