Ninetail-Developed EroRPG ‘Gears of Dragoon: Fragments of a New Era’ Delayed to Next Month
Publisher JAST has announced a slight delay for their Gears of Dragoon: Fragments of a New Era release plans. Originally expected to be available on September 28, the game that mixes RPG dungeon crawling and 18+ visual novel portions will now come to PC (Steam, JAST Store) on October 20, 2023 in order to polish up the English and Chinese version.
Gears of Dragoon: Fragments of a New Era is the second game in the series developed by Ninetail (VenusBlood) and the first one to come west. Despite this, it’s a standalone experience that doesn’t require any previous knowledge. The concept of the game revolves around exploring a labyrinth beneath a prosperous city, unearthing relics and learning more about their bygone era. However, this underworld will offer even more perils than anticipated.
The story follows a young adventurer called Rustar who has an unusual affinity to magic and machinery alike. Thanks to his father’s final words, he dares explore the labyrinth known as the Dragonschaft and meets an artifact-bearing woman called Percy. Together, the two start going deeper inside the place, bringing unprecedented discoveries on the mechanical civilization that once was.
They’ll also meet many other characters who will be important aids to exploration. The party cast includes the half-dragon Ashley, the samurai Byakuen, the furry sniper Kei and the angel Rufei. Getting closer to them is an important mechanic in the game and will lead to special scenes in the 18+ edition of the game. As usual, the Steam version is censored so a patch will be required to fully enjoy everything the game has to offer.
