NieR Series Producer Excited for Metaverse & Blockchain in 2023
In Famitsu’s article comprising end-of-the-year comments from numerous developers, NieR series Producer Yosuke Saito shared a statement emphasizing his eagerness for fans to play the new native Nintendo Switch port of NieR:Automata. After that, however, he revealed a concerning statement, saying he’s enthused about a “grand metaverse” and blockchain games to experience in 2023.
Our team’s Ryuji translated the following information:
“To start things off, please play the Nintendo Switch version of Nier:Automata! We worked really hard on it, and I feel our effort paid off. When it comes to 2023, I must say I’m looking forward to the birth of a grand metaverse, as well as very interesting blockchain games to play! What a time to be alive when such new entertainment forms are born from new technology!”
Hopefully, these technologies don’t interfere with the franchises we love.
NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition is now available for Nintendo Switch worldwide. In case you missed it, check out our review of the game.
The game has a physical release with a reversible cover, and it is not a Cloud version. It includes all existing DLC and new NieR Replicant & Re[in]carnation costumes.
NieR:Automata was initially released in 2017 on PlayStation 4 and PC, with an Xbox One release in 2018. The game follows characters named 2B and 9S, who are agents of Yorha, an organization tasked with various combative and information-gathering missions. This entry became highly popularized for its storytelling and characters in a fusion of action, exploration, and shmup elements.
NieR:Automata is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox, Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
