Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers will collaborate once against with NieR during Patch 5.3, which is available now to players.
This patch continues a few storylines from the game, including the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse alliance raid series, which features characters from NieR Automata. The raid, titled “The Puppets Bunker” will reveal more of the mysteries surrounding the machine lifeforms no the First. This patch sets up the final act for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers.
Additionally, the original scenario from A Realm Reborn has now been streamline in Patch 5.3 offering an improved experience for new players to advance in the content towards later expansions.
Other new content includes a new dungeon called The Heroes Gauntlet, which allows players to play solo with the Trust System, a new Trial, updated to the Save the Queen Questline, various New Game+ Updates, and more.
Lastly, on April 30, the developer plans to release The Creation of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, which will feature Naoki Yoshida, Yosuke Saito, and YOKO TARO as they discuss DLC story chapters and what players can expect from the future.
