The official Square Enix Music YouTube channel has posted a new cover of “The Prestigious Mask” from NieR Gestalt and NieR Replicant.
This hammered dulcimer cover by Noriko Tanabe was initially composed by MONACA. Additionally, Yuta Tateishi mixed and recorded this performance at the Sound INN studio.
The remake’s soundtrack recently greeted streaming services.
NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is a remake of NieR Gestalt, which was released exclusively in Japan. The series is a spin-off of the Drakengard series but found fame after the release of NieR: Automata. Some say it was for the action systems; others say it was for the attractive characters. Regardless, it’s a rather pretty game.
During gameplay, players join a rather unconventional party of characters as they fight against enemies known as Shades. The title also allows players to take on side missions and even fish. Voiced lines have been added with the same cast.
