NieR: Automata Director Yoko Taro Has One Word to Say About Project Eve “Buy”

By now, we know that much of the news surrounding early NieR: Automata development was about the design of protagonist 2B. The android was sexualized in design, which caught the eyes and hearts of many. While director Yoko Taro hasn’t been shy about sharing his own admiration for 2B, it’s always fun to see what he thinks about other action games.

In many ways, the ShiftUp developed Project Eve shares a few similarities with NieR: Automata. Outside of its action-centric gameplay, the protagonist is also highly sexualized and, by all means, a badass.

In a quick statement on Twitter, Yoko Taro simply shared “Buy.” in reaction to the recent gameplay reveal.

In terms of story elements, there’s not much to go on. ShiftUp is widely known for its mobile gacha Destiny Child, which is praised for its limited pay-to-win systems. The development team comprises team members who also worked on games such as Magna Carta on PlayStation 2, which is where you’ll notice some of the influences in character designs from character designer and direction Kim Hyung-tae.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the development of Project Eve and any more news surrounding the title.
