NieR: Automata Anime Announced
Aniplex has announced an anime adaption of the action RPG NieR: Automata. The game was a really popular hit from the creative mind of Yoko Taro, being developed in a partnership between Square Enix and Platinum Games. While no major details have been shared yet, the anime now has a Twitter account and official website.
NieR:Automata released in 2017 on PlayStation 4 and PC, with an Xbox One release in 2018. The game follows the stories of androids 2B and 9S, who are part of an elite military force called YoRHa. In a fusion between action, exploration, and shmup elements, the game is very popular for its storytelling and characters.
So far, the tease shows a focus on 2B but it’s only concept art at this moment. Details like studios, key staff members or even if it’ll actually be an adaption of the game plot or something more loosely based on the universe are yet to be disclosed.
We’ll be sure to cover more details on NieR: Automata‘s anime adaption when Aniplex and the anime’s official account share information on it in the coming months. As it stands now, there is no release window for the series to air on Japanese TV. Considering the series’ worldwide popularity, it’s very likely to be officially available in the west on streaming services while it’s airing.
