NieR Automata Celebrates 4th Anniversary by Announcing 5.5 Million Units Shipped Worldwide
Square Enix has a lot to celebrate as NieR Automata celebrates its 4th anniversary. The publisher revealed that the title has shipped 5.5 million units worldwide, including digital sales. Considering the NieR series is niche when looking at the other franchises in the publisher’s portfolio, it’s awesome to see a game like this doing so well.
Currently, the team is working on NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139, which is a remaster of one of the titles in the series that didn’t come west.
NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is a modern retelling of the original NieR Replicant, which was initially released in Japan in 2010. This title acts as a prequel to the highly critically acclaimed Nier Automata. It will serve as a gateway for players only familiar with that title to experience a completely redone chapter.
Composer Keiichi Okabe, known for his work on Tekken and NieR, has been confirmed to work on this soundtrack. Additionally, character designer, Akihiko Yoshida, known for his work on Final Fantasy XIV and Bravely Default, has worked on this title’s visuals and character art.
NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam.
