Next Tomb Raider Announced To Be On Unreal Engine 5
During the State of Unreal 2022 presentation, developer Crystal Dynamics announced that the next Tomb Raider game is in development for the Unreal Engine 5. Nothing specific was stated regarding what to expect from this new entry in the franchise aside from it taking advantage of the numerous graphical benefits boasted by the Unreal Engine 5.
The official video announcement of the next Tomb Raider game has been clipped by the series’ Youtube channel, viewable below:
Tomb Raider stars Lara Croft, who has been gracing gamers with adventures that span many different environments. This archeologist has shot down dinosaurs, skeletons, and plenty of bad guys in her time. The series has accumulated over 30 video game titles along with a few feature film releases. We’re excited to see what the team has in store for the future.
As part of the franchise’s 25-year anniversary last year, developer and publisher Square Enix recently published an article on their official website that acts as a guide to experiencing this vast, admittedly overwhelming series in its chronological order. From several books and comics to decades of video games, this easily digestible guide is honestly pretty helpful, even to me. I’ve dabbled in the series here and there but have never truly dived into its cohesive intricacies or storylines.
