Next-Gen Time-Loop Shooter ‘Deathloop’ Gets Delayed to a September Release

The official Twitter account for the upcoming next-gen time-bending shooter Deathloop has announced that the title has received a delay and will be now be releasing in September of 2021.

More specifically, game director Dinga Bakaba and art director Sebastien Mitton released a short video on the title’s official Twitter account. They revealed that the purpose of the delay was to both not compromise on their strong vision for the game and make sure that all individuals’ health and safety were well handled.

They also released a brief statement on the official Twitter account, essentially stating the same general points as the short video.

In Deathloop, players get transported to the island of Blackreef, where a seemingly eternal struggle between two assassins will determine the island’s future. Taking control of Colt, players must somehow find a way to rid the time-loop entrapping the island in a perpetual cycle while also being hunted by the inhabitants of Blackreef.

There are 8 targets to take care of alongside a rival assassin named Julianna, whose mission is to take out Colt and keep the time-loop going. Players must utilize the knowledge of the various loops they experience to ultimately destroy the cycle entirely.

The title is being developed by Arkan Lyon, the creators of the highly acclaimed Dishonored series.

Deathloop is releasing for PlayStation 5 and PC on September 14, 2021.
