Next-Gen Resident Evil Upgrades Won’t Lose Save Data
The official Resident Evil Twitter page has announced that all of the Resident Evil games being upgraded for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will indeed carry over save data from last-gen versions of the game.
A couple of weeks back, it was revealed that Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and Resident Evil 7: biohazard would all be coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and could be upgraded from previous-gen versions for no additional cost. This brought up the question: will save data carry over for people who have already started or beaten these titles?
Thankfully, it will, alongside all the DLC that comes with the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 7. Players can rest easy knowing their journeys into the world of survival horror can be continued on their snazzy new consoles. Upgrade patches for all three titles will also be released for free for PC players as soon as the console versions launch, meaning no one has to miss out on these upgrades.
We're happy to confirm that save data from the original PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of these games will carry over to their respective upgraded versions. DLC that comes with Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will transfer over, as well! https://t.co/FVVTPuHBQs
