Newton and the Apple Tree Released After Successful Kickstarter With New Trailer

Sol Press released the launch trailer for the Laplacian developed visual novel Newton and the Apple Tree, available now on PC-via Steam.

The trailer gives a brief overview of the characters featured in the story who are comprised of a cast of time traveling childhood friends, Syuji Asanaga and Yotsuko Utakane, and 17th-century citizens.

Newton and the Apple Tree tells the story of Syuji as he teams up with Yotsuko in search of his missing grandfather. Evidently, the pair wide up traveling through time, yea, it’s about to get weird, and find themselves face to face with Sir Isaac Newton, who just so happens to be a “flat-chested girl”. Upon arrival, the pair ends up disrupting the scientist as she was about to discover gravity. Following the event, Syuji must fix history, return home, and still find his grandfather.

The visual novel was Kickstarted early this year after raising over $88,000. The crowdfunded project ended up reaching a handful of stretch goals and add-ons include three special episodes and a light novel series.

You can watch the launch trailer below:

Author’s take: I enjoy a quirky visual novel every now and then and I really appreciate the spin this game puts on historical scientists. I mean, who’s to really say that Sir Isaac Newton wasn’t a flat-chested girl? Huh, history books and photographs? Well, we can dream, can’t we!?
