New Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Trailer Details Choice-Centric Gameplay Mechanics

Developer Big Bad Wolf has revealed a new trailer for their upcoming narrative RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. Throughout this title, players control three vampire protagonists as their various stats become altered via choices. For instance, NPC intimidation, lockpicking, and self-induced deductions become possible depending on stat allocations.

Additionally, the three protagonists boast vampiric abilities known as Disciplines. The oldest vampire, Galeb, utilizes Fortitude to withstand physical assaults. Emem uses a Discipline called Celerity to reach far-off areas, and Leysha can make herself invisible via Obfuscate. When this particular Discipline gets upgraded, even physical objects can become unviewable from prying eyes.

Moreover, Talents are produced when a single playstyle is focused on, granting more significant benefits such as higher Skill and Discipline efficacy. Then, Traits are the lingering positive and negative effects caused by actions and decisions. NPCs also have their own character sheets, leading to die rolls determining outcomes. Lastly, players can look forward to 15 endings for the protagonists that are entirely dependent on player agency with a multitude of gameplay choices.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong will be available on PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on May 19, 2022.
