New Street Fighter Live-Action Movie Announced; Co-Produced by Legendary Entertainment
Capcom has announced that a new live-action Street Fighter live-action film is in development, with co-production by Legendary Entertainment. Unfortunately, no details about the movie’s premise, cast, or planned release window were revealed, but this news isn’t all that unexpected. After all, the studio acquired the film rights for the Street Fighter franchise recently.
Legendary Entertainment has worked on notable projects like The Dark Knight trilogy, Dune, Jurassic World, and Pacific Rim. However, specifically regarding video game movie adaptations, they worked on Detective Pikachu, which, despite earning harsher criticism in recent years, is still quite beloved by fans.
For those unaware, the Street Fighter franchise has seen a plethora of live-action films with varying degrees of quality. So, even with this studio’s abundant experience, it’s entirely up in the air whether this incoming adaptation will be satisfactory.
We’ll be sure to keep you all updated on this upcoming Street Fighter live-action movie.
Street Fighter 6 will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 2, 2023. Check out the latest confirmed characters, including the fan-favorite Cammy, alongside a trailer, renders, and screenshots.
During gameplay, players can explore different regions worldwide, and Special Moves from different Masters can be mixed and matched. Master Assist will be in the mode as well and will allow players to summon Masters like Ryu to aid them in battle.
Moreover, karate-chopping bottles, enjoying Italian cuisine, and parrying basketballs are some of the minigames players can look forward to as part-time jobs to earn currency that can purchase in-game food, clothing, and more.
