New Steins;Gate Project Announced as a Sequel/Successor to the Original Steins;Gate

During an official MAGES. livestream, a brand new Steins;Gate project was announced. This project does not have its full title revealed yet, with the second part of the title being redacted.

The former president of MAGES., Chiyomaru Shikura described this title as being a sequel, or a spiritual successor to the original Steins;Gate. To be more specific, this title’s relationship to the original Steins;Gate is very much akin to the relationship between Chaos;Child and Chaos;Head. For those who are not aware of those two titles, Chaos;Child is a direct sequel to Chaos;Head, the very first title in the Science Adventure series. Chaos;Child utilized the same general setting and plot elements from Chaos;Head while not only connecting it to that original title, but also creating a standalone narrative with a brand new cast.

Chiyomaru Shikura also stated that this title was previously referred to as Steins;God in the past, but that will not be the final title going forward.

Additionally, this title was revealed to the the 9th project in the Steins;Gate 10th anniversary project. Little else is known about this new project at the moment but, the voice actors for key characters in Steins;Gate, them being Rintaro Okabe, Kurisu Makise, and Itaru Hashida (Daru) were at the conference. Chiyomaru Shikura stated that they will be involved with this new title.
