The New Soul Hackers Project Seems To At Least Be On PlayStation Consoles
Atlus Japan has been hosting information streams about their upcoming and still elusive Soul Hackers project. The third one released a few hours ago, and many fans have noticed one detail in the stream’s provided screenshots. An R1 prompt is at the bottom right of the screen, implying that this new title will arrive at PlayStation 4 and potentially PlayStation 5. However, there’s also the possibility that this could be a button configuration set for a potential PC version. Regardless, the website countdown timer concludes in roughly two days from now, so more concrete information will undoubtedly be provided then.

For those unaware, Soul Hackers is a Shin Megami Tensei offshoot that last released for the 3DS, under Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers. Therefore, the most evident hope for this countdown would be a potential new entry. Still, there is too much incomplete information to form any definitive conclusions.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at’. He quickly finds out that he’s’ not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at’ and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is now available for Nintendo Switch.
