New Shin Megami Tensei V Trailer Showcases New Characters, Essences, Glory, Miracles; Next Program Late September

The official Atlus Japan Youtube channel officially revealed the second news volume trailer for the upcoming turn-based demon fusing JRPG, Shin Megami Tensei V. This was a brief, yet rich showing of various facets of the title, from the introduction of 3 new story characters to newly discussed battle mechanics such as Essences, Glory, and Miracles. In addition, stat-building for the protagonist was also featured.

The infamous red-clad woman is called Joka, though the close captions of the trailer say her name is instead Nuwa. Regardless, she is partnered with the mysterious Shohei Yakumo. Lastly, there is the dutiful angel, Abdiel.

The end of the trailer states that the next program promotion for Shin Megami Tensei V is scheduled for late September.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
