One to Three New Science Adventure Projects Being Considered; Potential Steins;Gate Sequel Comments

Last week, MAGES representative director Chiyomaru Shikura livestreamed on TwitCasting, a Japanese website, discussing the Science Adventure franchise at length. Thankfully, “Sister Centipede,” a user on the forum site 2channel, listed several noteworthy points from the stream.

Then, the Science Adventure fansite Kiri Kiri Basara translated the aforementioned user’s list of points, and we’ll be basing our forthcoming comments on those translations. Thanks to both “Sister Centipede” and Kiri Kiri Basara for their dedicated efforts.

Of course, it should be noted that since this has essentially become a game of telephone, some details stated by any of us, Kiri Kiri Basara and “Sister Centipede” included, may have been misinterpreted or misunderstood in some way. Further, these comments from Shikura are personal and not necessarily equated to MAGES as a company. So, just keep those points in mind.

SteinsGate My Darling’s Embrace 4

Firstly, Shikura has been thinking about one to three new Science Adventure titles that could take place between 2048 and 2060. And the team has decided not to lean on the idea of having the player as the protagonist for the foreseeable future, which could result from how difficult adaptions of Anonymous;Code would be. That’s simply speculation on my end, though.

In the realm of Steins;Gate, Shikura stated that a sequel would need to hone in on “world lines” and “fatalism.” Plus, in relation to this potential sequel, the terms “Planck length” and “Laplace’s demon” were mentioned. It’s also emphasized how the Steins;Gate Load Region of Déjà Vu film was a story he really wanted to make.

Several comments were made regarding Anonymous;Code, but the most significant is how even if a player has gotten all of the achievements, “the game still isn’t over.” In fact, Shikura has not heard of a Japanese player who has truly completed the game. Whatever the hell that means.

If you’re yearning for more details primarily pertaining to Anonymous;Code, I highly recommend checking out Kiri Kiri Basara’s coverage.

In 2037, the protagonist Pollon Takaoka and his best friend Cross Yumikawa work as hackers for Nakano Symphonies following the “Sad Morning” disaster from 2036. However, during one such seemingly ordinary day, Pollon encounters a girl named Momo, who is on the run from the authorities for unknown reasons.

After failing in his task to protect her, he utilizes a new app he receives, which allows him to Save and Load in real life, akin to a video game. With his save data viewable via the game’s UI, Pollon ends up interacting with the player moving forward as they both attempt to uncover the mysteries of this program and several other events.
