New Saints Row Delayed From February to August 2022; No Story or Character Alterations
The development team for the new upcoming Saints Row has announced that the title has been delayed from February 25, 2022, to August 23, 2022. The official Saints Row website has a blog post from chief creative officer Jim Boone explaining the reasoning for the delay.
According to the post, the team underestimated how heavily the COVID pandemic would affect their schedules, which has impeded their grand ambition. Still, while the delay is sizable, Boone reassures fans that the story and characters will not be altered. Instead, the primary focus will be on fine-tuning certain elements to make the overall experience as qualitative as possible.
You can read the full statement from Jim Boone on Saints Row’s official website.
Throughout this game, players explore 9 distinct city districts surrounded by the Southwest Desert, making this collective playground a definite standout from the series’ priorly established conventions.
This upcoming title clearly still boasts the over-the-top violence and humorous tone that the previous entries have, so we just have to wait and see how the execution delivers. Good luck to developer Volition on this project, and hopefully, this sizable delay will turn out to be fruitful.
Saints Row is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store on August 23, 2022.
