New River City Girls 2 Update Adds Online 4-Player Mode for PlayStation, Xbox & PC
WayForward has announced that their beat-’em-up title, River City Girls 2, has received a significant update patch on all platforms, adding online to the 4-player mode on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Of course, the 4-player local co-op mode and the crossplay-enabled online 2-player mode are still available on all platforms.
River City Girls 2 is arguably the series at its best, with new characters, stages, enemies, and more to beat up. Further, an addictive RPG-like growth system and unlockables bolster the overall playtime. Every platform sans Switch also boasts 60 FPS, thanks to a recent patch.
A new River City Girls trailer was also shared, narrated by Jacksepticeye, to celebrate the occasion. You can view this new video below.
River City Girls 2 is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
The original River City Girls tells the story of Kyoko and Misako, two high-schoolers who know a thing or two about defending themselves as they explore the six regions of River City to rescue their kidnapped boyfriends, who happen to Kunio and Riki. Players will utilize the game’s combo mechanics, including counters, throws, and special attacks as they fight their way through the streets. They’ll also be able to interact with NPCs, which includes guest stars from previous River City titles.
