New Pokémon Legends: Arceus Trailer Reveals Restored Footage of Previous Creepy Trailer; Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark

The official Pokémon Youtube channel has shared a brand new trailer for the upcoming and highly anticipated Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This trailer is a restored version of the prior trailer that was shown, which had static imagery.

The big reveal in this video are the Hisuian forms of Zorua and Zoroark. The latter is the evolution of the former, and both Pokémon debuted during generation 5. There were fan theories following the last trailer regarding who these new Pokémon might be, and having seen many say Zorua and Zoroark, I’m impressed.

Between these reveals and the fresh new components of the battle system, some bold steps are being transparently taken here. While I wasn’t sold on this title during its initial reveal, this newly revealed footage is undoubtedly amping up the hype. The sheer premise of a Pokémon title being set this far in the past is enticing enough, and I hope that the game’s execution embraces its contextual strengths well. Based on the trailer, that certainly seems to be the case, but we will merely have to wait and see how every game design aspect coalesces early next year.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is releasing for Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
