The official Pokémon Youtube channel has shared a new trailer for the highly anticipated Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This trailer consists of a hefty 3-minute length and is densely packed with a slew of exciting reveals and general information. Aside from expected footage of exploration while riding on top of Pokémon, new characters dubbed ‘Wardens’ are revealed, and customization coupled with Photo Mode is also showcased. Lastly, the legendary Pokémon Kleaver is shown shrouded in an intimidating, golden aura during a boss battle.
Between these reveals and the fresh new components of the battle system, some bold steps are being transparently taken here. While I wasn’t sold on this title during its initial reveal, this newly revealed footage is undoubtedly amping up the hype. The sheer premise of a Pokémon title being set this far in the past is enticing enough, and I hope that the game’s execution embraces its contextual strengths well. Based on the trailer, that certainly seems to be the case, but we will merely have to wait and see how every game design aspect coalesces early next year.
