New PlayStation 5 System Software Update Launching Tomorrow; M.2 SSD Implementation, 3D Speaker Audio, and More
PlayStation Blog has shared a post stating that a new system software update for the PlayStation 5 will be launching tomorrow, boasting a slew of improvements and additions to aid the quality of the general user experience.
The Control Center’s control UI can now be hidden or rearranged, and the Game Base has been significantly enhanced, allowing easier communication between players and within parties. If one has a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 version of a game installed onto their system, both versions will be listed separately on the installed tab.
A newly made Trophy Tracker lets players view up to 5 trophies through the Control Center. To be completely honest, that’s probably my most anticipated add-on. Further, PlayStation 5 trophies will be viewable on PlayStation 4 systems for users who own both.
For those who have 3D audio-compatible televisions, this update will allow players to finally experience 3D audio from their speakers rather than just from their headphones.
M.2 SSD devices will be useable on PlayStation 5 tomorrow, though there are disclaimers and notes prospective users should read before making any finalized decisions.
There are several more notes and additions that can be read in further detail on PlayStation Blog’s official post.
