New Metroid Dread Teaser States the Importance of Trusting Your Instincts

Nintendo has uploaded a new, brief teaser trailer for the upcoming Metroid Dread, Samus’ latest new 2D outing since Metroid Fusion’s release in 2002. While this teaser does not provide any groundbreaking new information or footage, it states how vital it is for players to trust their instincts as they dive into the depths of this treacherous planet to empower Samus’ hopeful escape.

Regardless, it is quite exciting to see Nintendo marketing this title so heavily. I hope it will achieve critical success on top of the already high sales its pre-orders have been boasting.

You can view the new teaser trailer for Metroid Dread below:

Metroid Dread is confirmed to be the finale of the Samus Saga, which consists of MetroidMetroid 2: Return of SamusSuper Metroid, and Metroid Fusion. The ‘Dread’ part of the title specifically refers to how Samus is being hunted throughout the title by robot enemies known as E.M.M.I. Little is known about these foes, but Samus will have to use stealth elements, such as hiding from enemies via the Phantom Cloak that acts as camouflage. Also, there could be some tension between Samus and the Galactic Federation as they seem to have played a role in creating the E.M.M.I.

Metroid Dread is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021.
