New Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer Shows the Team Huddling Together to Assuage Doubts and Kick Ass

Developer Eidos-Montréal has launched a new trailer for the upcoming Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, showcasing the team discussing battle strategy in typical Guardians fashion. The title’s humorous tone, team-based combat, and truly stunning environments are shown in full force here. Additionally, “Kickstart My Heart” also solidifies the ambiance, giving the game an ample degree of unabashed confidence.

Huddles are one of the game’s central combat mechanics, letting players choose phrases to assuage the party’s doubts. If the correct option is selected, the team’s battle prowess grows, leading to easier battles.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 26, 2021. A Nintendo Switch cloud version is also scheduled to release at that time in certain regions.

The game looks very similar to Marvel’s Avengers without the live service. Instead, the gameplay has players take a strategic approach to gunplay where players can switch skills on the fly to take down enemies. From the reveal trailer, it seems the characters resemble their film counterparts in personality, but not their appearance.

In the story, the group has been together for less than a year, and they must face off against a massive threat to the galaxy. Non-popular enemies are promised to make appearances, so players have hopefully inventive battles to look forward to.

During gameplay, players can choose dialogue options that get a reaction from the others. Additionally, environments will feature enemy waves where players can utilize character skills, including Starlord’s jet boots.
