New Layers of Fear (2023) Trailer Showcases Unreal Engine 5 Technology

Bloober Team and Anshar Studios have shared a new trailer for their upcoming survival-horror game, Layers of Fear, highlighting how the title takes advantage of Unreal Engine 5. Lumen, Ray Tracing, and Niagara effects are explicitly mentioned as factors that amplified this game’s ambitious presentation.

Anshar Studios Lead Programmer Tomasz Bilnicki stated the following regarding this engine utilization:

“Creating games with Unreal Engine 5 is a great opportunity for the whole team, as it means our game development process can skyrocket in quality. It has an incredible power when it comes to the implementation of dynamic lighting, shadows, and potentially beautiful worlds for players to explore.” He added, “We hope that—thanks to the engine—we’ll provide players with the unique, immersive, visually stunning and atmospheric experience in graphical fidelity.”

Players can look forward to Layers of FearLayers of Fear 2, all of the DLCs, and the new “The Final Note” chapter, which provides an alternate perspective on the first game’s storyline. Further, the never-before-told story of The Writer, tying the entries together, will be implemented.

Layers of Fear 2 was initially launched in 2019 as a first-person horror adventure. The game is a story-driven exploration title where players discover the past of the character they play as. Uncovering this past opens a few wounds, but strange things happen around you while you do this.
