New Game From Katamari Damacy Creator ‘Wattam’ Gets December Release Date

During Sony’s State of Play, publisher Annapurna Interactive shared a gameplay trailer, which also ended with a release date, for Wattam — the next game from the creator behind Katamari Damacy and Noby Noby Boy. Developed by Funomena, Wattam will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC sometime this December.

In Wattam, players will follow Mayor, an odd yet cute fellow who is alone in a dark world with no memories and is also too sad to realize his dear friends are still nearby. However, things will take a turn for the better as an unexpected reunion helps him remember how good it feels to grab a friend by the hand and go on an adventure together.

It’ll be up to you to help Mayor meet new and old friends, build stacks and chains with all sorts of unique characters, such as Sushi, Flower, Cloud, and Poop, and discover all that their world has to offer. Players can choose to do all this solo if they’d like, or have a buddy jump in for all the fun via local co-op. From the looks of it, it seems Watam is going to be one heck of a fun and adorable goof-around simulation game of sorts — full of unique mini-games, puzzles, secrets, and of course, music.

Wattam is one of those games you have to see to know what it’s really about, so go ahead and watch the gameplay trailer below:
