Square Enix has announced that new information for their 4v4 party shooter, Foamstars, will arrive on January 16, 2024.
No specific statements were made aside from that vague announcement. So, while a release date unveiling is certainly possible, it’s not guaranteed. Currently, we have no idea when Foamstars is planned to be released, but we do know that it’s planned to launch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Additionally, an open beta test was recently held, resulting in positive impressions. Moreover, several members of the playable cast have received formal introductions, including my personal favorite due to her clever name, the Ice Cream Brand CEO, Mel T.
In Foamstars, foam is the ultimate resource. It can be used in multiple ways: To create slippery surfaces that players can use to surf around the arena at high speed; to build terrain, helping players defend from enemy attacks or creating high vantage points to take out opponents; and finally, to foam up the opposition and win the match.
Contrary to initial glance and expectation, Foamstars is nothing like Splatoon, being an entirely distinct experience that requires you to try out to get an actual idea of what it’s like.
We’ll keep you all updated on the upcoming release of Foamstars.
