New Final Fantasy XVI Trailer is Ready, But Has Been Delayed; Should Be Revealed Soon

During the latest NieR Reincarnation x Final Fantasy XIV live stream, the director for the latter title and the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI, Naoki Yoshida, stated that the new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI is complete and ready to show. Still, its reveal has been delayed for currently undisclosed reasons. However, it should be delivered soon, potentially during a PlayStation State of Play or Square Enix live event. Further, Yoshida also stated that the team will be working on polishing the game as much as possible until release.

Thanks to prominent Twitter gaming news poster Red Makuzawa for sharing this significant news. Their tweet on this matter can be viewed below:

The live stream where Yoshida provided the aforementioned statements can be viewed below:

Staff working from home has made communication more of an arduous process, leading to delayed responses. Most of 2021 was spent addressing these issues, and the Final Fantasy XVI staff team aims to optimize the game as much as possible. The graphic quality, combat mechanics, cutscenes, and more will be the main focused points.

Lastly, Yoshida stated that the current plan is to provide new information for the title in Spring 2022. Summer 2022 seems far more likely at this point, though.

Final Fantasy XVI is releasing for PlayStation 5 at a currently undisclosed time.
