New Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Information Will be Revealed “Soon,” Says Tetsuya Nomura

Today, the official Final Fantasy VII Remake Twitter account shared its seventh and likely final consecutive daily developer message regarding the upcoming direct sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

• The first Final Fantasy VII Rebirth developer message from producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that development has been progressing smoothly, and the team is working on finalizing a release date.
• The second Final Fantasy VII Rebirth developer message from director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that fans can anticipate a high degree of freedom with several different stories to experience.
• The third Final Fantasy VII Rebirth developer message from writer Kazushige Nojima stated that players can anticipate a chain of narrative developments at the core of the FFVII story alongside each character’s destiny.
• The fourth Final Fantasy VII Rebirth developer message from co-director Motomu Toriyama reiterated that one does not need to know the events of Remake to enjoy this sequel.
• The fifth Final Fantasy VII Rebirth developer message from battle director Teruki Endo stated that players can anticipate new party members and be able to cooperate with other party members in closer ways than before.
• The sixth Final Fantasy VII Rebirth developer message from music supervisor Keiji Kawamori stated that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will contain many new original tracks, including some new arrangements of songs from Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Today’s message, which is likely the final one, is from creative director Tetsuya Nomura, who stated that we will learn more about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth “soon.” Today is the day of Summer Games Fest, so there’s a fair chance we’ll see the title make an appearance there.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the sequel to the first entry in this ongoing Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy effort. Throughout the announcement trailer, players got a tease of the Nibleheim flashback with Cloud and Sephiroth and Zack carrying Cloud, seemingly from either the end of Crisis Core or the end of Remake.
