New Fate/Extra Record Trailer Officially Uploaded by Type-Moon; New Screenshots
Following the latest Fate/Extra Record trailer only being viewable via the ongoing Fate/Extra-themed art exhibit, with a fan generously sharing an upload, Type-Moon has finally officially uploaded the trailer. More of the game’s dungeon exploration is focused on alongside the hub school setting and various Servants and Masters.
Japanese publication Automaton provided their own coverage of the announcement, initially stating that the title was releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. However, they were contacted to remove the platforms, stating that this news was an error. Thanks to Twitter user @Renka_schedule for spotting this development.
You can view the latest trailer for Fate/Extra Record below. Unfortunately, there is still no release date nor any confirmed platforms.
Famitsu has also shared new screenshots, viewable via our gallery below:
Fate Extra/Record is a remake of the original Fate/Extra released for PSP. It follows a male or female protagonist with a choosable servant, ranging from Nero (Saber), Tamamo (Caster), and Emiya (Archer). No platforms or a release date have been confirmed.
The protagonist, canonically named Hakuno Kishinami, regardless of gender, is an amnesiac who finds themselves in a Grail War. Strangely, this setting seems to differ significantly from conventional reality, and learning the intricacies surrounding their circumstances is at the core of Hakuno’s initial objectives.
Combat is turn-based, consisting of a rock-paper-scissors design where players must innately understand their opponents’ movesets to prevail. Japan received this title in July 2010, while the West first saw it in November 2021 via publisher Aksys Games.
Fate/Extra would receive a follow-up entry titled Fate/Extra CCC for the PSP in Japan in March 2013. However, it has never been localized.
The Type-Moon developed visual novel, Witch on the Holy Night, is coming to the West on December 8, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru in Japanese) is an enhanced edition of the Type-Moon visual novel released for PC in Japan back in 2012.
Published by Aniplex, this console edition will include voices and higher definition artwork and will also add extra language options for English and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).
