New Dragon Quest Info Arriving December 2022 via Jump Festa; Exciting Possibilities

The official website for Jump Festa, an event occurring between December 17, and December 18, 2022, has shared a notable announcement from Square Enix. The company stated that the Dragon Quest franchise would receive new information, including footage. In addition, a photography section will be present for fans to snap some shots.

Nothing specific regarding which titles would be shown was said, but there are plenty of possibilities. Considering how Dragon Quest Treasures will have launched earlier that month, that can be taken out of the running. Therefore, the three potential candidates that come to mind are the HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III, Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest – The Adventure of Dai, and Dragon Quest XII The Flames of Fate.

We still know practically nothing about Dragon Quest XII following its May 2022 announcement other than it having a mature tone and somehow innovating the brand with the next 10 to 20 years in mind. It also asks the existential question, “What is the purpose of life?” Nevertheless, it’s been roughly a year and a half, so there’s a fair chance it could debut footage this December.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest – The Adventure of Dai has shared a plethora of gameplay footage, with a PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam launch planned. No release date has been given, but it looks like it’s in its polishing phase, so maybe we can see it arrive early next year.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D is quite the veiled project. No platforms or an expected launch date were provided, though a gorgeous announcement trailer was uploaded. A worldwide simultaneous release is in the works as well.

Regardless of what is shown at Jump Festa, we’ll be sure to keep you all updated.
