New Bravely Default II Info Coming Soon Following Original Game’s 8th Anniversary
The official Bravely Default II Twitter account has teased that new information on the elusive title will be revealed soon. This tease came about through a special illustration on Twitter from character designer Naoki Ikushima, celebrating the 8th anniversary of the original Bravely Default. Nothing substantial can be gleaned from this very brief bit of confirmation. Still, it is very possible that this title might receive a new trailer at an upcoming Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. For now, only time will tell.
Naoki Ikushima is the only character designer for the upcoming Bravely Default II and is mostly known for his work on recent Square Enix titles such as Octopath Traveler and NieR: Automata. Akihiko Yoshida, who originally designed this series, will not be stepping up to this mantle once more.
Bravely Default II‘s existence was up in the air for years, due to the poor reception that Bravely Second received. Producer Tomoya Asano has apologized for that title and seeks to rectify its faults and create a better product with this third mainline entry in the series. This title was also only able to come to fruition thanks to the success of the mobile entry, Bravely Default: Fairy’s Effect.
A demo for Bravely Default II was released during March of this year with the ultimate goal of receiving feedback from players to improve upon the game’s systems as a whole.
