New Alan Wake 2 Behind the Scenes Video Discusses The Dark Place

Remedy Entertainment unveiled a new video for their upcoming adventure thriller game Alan Wake 2, where the team discusses The Dark Place. This nightmare reality consumed Alan’s life for 13 years, so the team goes into how they approached his characterization following such turmoil.

“Alan Wake 2 is an intense story and a layered mystery that takes players on two disturbing journeys, running in parallel and echoing each other in strange and unexpected ways,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director and Lead Writer of Alan Wake 2. “A newcomer to Alan Wake’s world, FBI Agent Saga Anderson’s investigation offers players a unique lens into this survival horror experience.”

New players will be taken through FBI Agent Saga Anderson, who is sent to Bright Falls to investigate a series of murders that have been happening around town. This will likely take up the bulk of her campaign, as Puha clarified how players would switch between the two protagonists. Each character will have their own set of missions separate from each other, so there won’t be any instance of playing through the same level twice as a different character.

Instead, two complete stories have been packaged into a single game, and while no release dates have been said, two expansions will be released after launch to keep players on the edge of their seats.
