Neverwinter Reveals Release Date and Details for Infernal Descent Update
Perfect World announced that the Cryptic Studios developed Neverwinter will receive the new Infernal Descent module on PC on January 21, 2020, with the console release to follow on a later date.
Infernal Descent will be the first campaign in Neverwinter for level 80 characters. The update also has a new endgame dungeon and adventure zone set on Vallenhas Estate, which is chained to limbo. To celebrate this announcement, players can enjoy a new Hell Pit event beginning tomorrow on PC. The event will last three-weeks and offer challenges to any who try to attempt to survive the Lower Planes.
This will be the first time players are able to visit the Lower Plane of Hell. The Hell Pit event will offer an early preview of the area as it spawns glyphs that provide combatants with additional powers, including magical shields, increased speed, and destructive energy. As each week progresses, the challenges will become more and more deadly, until the only ones left standing are crowned the champions of Hell Pit. Those who participate will gain renown and loot.
Neverwinter is a free-to-play action MMORPG where players will explore dungeons and an open-world. The game features many areas and quest set in the Forgotten Realms, which includes Wizards of the Coast’s latest Dungeons & Dragons tabletop adventure, Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus.
